Une nouvelle ligne aérienne pour attirer davantage de touristes chinois à Bali, en Indonésie, peut encore faciliter les choses pour les touristes chinois. Le principal défi consiste à augmenter le nombre de vols directs et de transporteurs à bas prix entre la Chine et l'Indonésie.
Garuda Indonesia a officiellement ouvert une nouvelle route entre l'aéroport international Ngurah Rai de Bali et la capitale de la province du Sichuan, Chengdu. En 2016, Garuda avait une part de 25 % des vols entre la Chine et l'Indonésie.

La liaison Bali-Chengdu sera assurée quatre fois par semaine. Les vols au départ de Bali que Garuda propose déjà comprennent des liaisons vers Pékin, Guangzhou et Shanghai.
Les Chinois peuvent se rendre au-delà de Bali vers des destinations comme Yogyakarta, Makassar, Manado et Labuan Bajo et bénéficier de correspondances intérieures.

Les citoyens chinois sont les plus nombreux à arriver dans l'archipel, devant Singapour, la Malaisie et l'Australie, qui a toujours été en tête de liste. Bali est la première destination et la Chine le marché prioritaire pour augmenter les arrivées au cours des trois prochaines années

Garuda Indonesia prévoit de développer 10 nouvelles destinations de voyage autres que Bali.
